Differential pressure bypass valve — adjustable with scale
Technical data
Maximum working pressure: 10 bar. Medium temperature range: 0–100 °C. Maximum glycol content: 30 %. Medium: water and glycol solutions.
Function
The differential pressure bypass valve ensures a controlled return of flow rates in systems with varying consumer conditions. It limits the differential pressure generated by the pump and returns excess volume proportionally to the number of closed consumers.
Especially in systems with heat pumps or speed-controlled circulation pumps, the valve ensures the required minimum flow rate, which is necessary for the correct operation of the machine and to prevent malfunctions and overheating.
Adjustability and operation
The stepless adjustment via the visible scale allows precise adaptation to the calculated pressure conditions of the system. During commissioning, the setting should be made based on the pump curve and the desired differential pressure limit.
Fine adjustment during operation enables optimization of system behavior under varying loads; log settings for later control measurements.
Advantages
Protection of the pump and control elements by limiting the maximum differential pressure, reduced noise generation, and longer system service life. More stable hydraulic conditions improve control behavior and efficiency.
Installation and maintenance instructions
The valve should be installed in a suitable position in the return line, accessible for inspection and adjustment. A strainer upstream of the valve increases operational safety and reduces wear.
Regular visual and functional checks as well as inspection of the glycol content and seals are recommended. Appropriate protective measures must be taken if there is a risk of frost.
Areas of application
Suitable for heating, cooling, and heat pump systems with variable flow rates. Particularly useful in systems with multiple consumers, actuators, or speed-controlled pumps to ensure minimum flow and pressure limitation.
